That means two paperwork trails at once: a bill of lading for your household shipment, and a separate vehicle shipping agreement with title, registration, and lienholder information if it’s financed. We coordinate both so dates line up, but they’re never the same booking.
Interisland: Oahu to Maui, Kauai, or the Big Island
Interisland vehicle shipping runs by ocean barge — there’s no bridge between the islands, so this is the only way a car actually gets from Kailua to Kahului or Hilo. Cars are typically driven onto the barge and secured rather than boxed into a container.
You’ll drop the car at the harbor terminal a day or two ahead of the actual sailing, not the morning of. Expect a walk-around inspection for existing dings, scratches, and windshield chips before the shipping line will accept it.
Mainland: Out of Honolulu Harbor
A mainland vehicle shipment leaves Honolulu Harbor by ocean container or roll-on service bound for a West Coast port, then continues by truck if your final address isn’t near that port.
Book this leg weeks ahead — space tightens fast during summer and PCS season, and a car doesn’t get priority just because your household goods already have a slot.

Before You Drop the Car Off
A few things go faster if they’re handled before you arrive at the terminal rather than in the drop-off line:
