Most homes here sit on lots carved out decades before two-car garages were normal, so a lot of driveways fit one vehicle and nothing wider. On the connector streets down to Kailua Beach and near the Mokulua canoe landing, weekend street parking disappears fast once beachgoers show up.

Cottages Next to New Builds
Lanikai still has small, older beach cottages standing next to larger rebuilds on the same block, and the two require very different moving plans. A cottage move might clear out in half a day; a newer multi-level home means stairs, tighter turns, and more furniture built for the space it’s in.
